Pros and cons of English Phonetic Symbols app for iPhone and iPad
English Phonetic Symbols app good for

Some bad moments
Foot and classroom are not pronounced the same, yet this app says they are, and even in their audio examples you can hear the difference. (Written by a native speaker of proper English, and a linguistics major)
There was no way to distinguish some of the characters and some were not even there. [I], [^^], [-u-] ect. Dont recommend it.
This app has potential, but some of the sounds are just plain wrong, like the /r/ and /l/. I pity the English Language Learners who are trying to learn them. I would love to use it for speech therapy, but only some of the sounds work. App support isnt in English, so I couldnt email them. Use "sounds: the pronunciation app" instead. Its free.
I am studying the sounds and this app helped me in such cases thanks a lot for making this app free
Found some misspellings in the example words; also some of the sound files seem to be missing for the female voice. Also the male voice file for the long u sound (close back unrounded vowel) is wrong!
Im sure the app is wonderful for people who know Japanese, but you really need to mention this little fact in the App Store description.
